Imagine 5 days in the sunshine, residing in a luxury villa, eating healthily, exercising daily, learning about different styles of training and nutrition for fat loss and health. Picture early morning runs on the beach as the sun comes up, partner workouts in the afternoon, water sports and barbecues around our own private pool and of course plenty of fun and banter.

This will be NO ordinary health and fitness retreat....

I have surveyed an abundance of clients over the years, many who have been on 'fat loss' retreats abroad, only to be starved on as little as 800 calories a day, made to train 3 times per day and then given a pat on the bum because they have lost a certain amount of weight before jumping on the plane absolutely starving to come home... What happens then is the rebound, whereby they literally stuff themselves rotten and put it all back on within a week....

This is not what 30 Plus Men's Fitness on Tour is about!

Before I tell you exactly what you can expect from our retreat I want to give you a bit of background on who exactly we are...

30 Plus Men's Fitness was set up in 2010 with the sole purpose of creating an environment (primarily at our Bootcamps and then online from 2013) where over 30s men felt safe and understood.

After seeing the change in commercial gyms, having been a personal trainer for many years, I wondered how many men would be sick of the young lads in there, crowding around the bench press and the bicep curl whilst posing in the mirror.

I wondered how many over 30s men would feel intimidated by this? At the same time I wondered how many over 30s men would have lost their way with their training due to time constraints caused by young families and careers? I wondered how many over 30s men would still not fully understand the right nutrition but only now be noticing the dip in energy levels and increase in the waistline now that they were the wrong side of 30?

I created 30 Plus Men's Fitness because at that time, at the ripe old age of 31 I had never felt fitter, leaner, healthier and happier after a lifetime of battling not only my weight, but also anxiety and depression (due to my weight). I had turned my life around by becoming a personal trainer and dedicating my life to studying fitness and nutrition and not only had I sorted myself out but I was now helping others...

I wanted to show 30 plus men that with some simple education and application they could get back into the shape of their 20s, they could have energy and clarity, they could chase after the kids and they could feel great again...

The methods I created were simple and easy to follow and involved no long arduous hours spent in the gym or guzzling loads of different supplements. I created easy to follow home bodyweight workouts and combined that with nutrition consisting of real foods such as good quality meat, fish, poultry, fruits, veggies, nuts, seeds healthy fats such as avocado, coconut oil and olive oil.

But aside from that, the key ingredient I created was actually nothing about fitness or nutrition it was about the COMMUNITY both at our bootcamps and inside our online programmes.

You see before becoming a trainer, for years I had attended many fitness classes, turned up, paid my money, had no introduction, just got on with it with my head down and barely spoke to anyone before going home. Whilst i enjoyed the exercise that was simply it - there was no community, no banter, no laughs or friendships formed it was SOUL-LESS and this was the exact opposite to what I set about creating with 30plus.

I wanted to create such a community that the moment you arrived at one of our bootcamps or inside our huge online programmes you were welcomed, introduced and appreciated - those few little things made all the difference.

At 30 Plus it doesn't matter where you come from, what you do, who you are or what you earn as once you are part of our community you are one of the lads and understood. Hey life is pretty chaotic right and if you are over 30 you, like everyone else should have a bit of a story to tell, a tough time you have been through or are going through and we want you to feel comfortable enough to be able to share that and not be judged.

Our online communities have proven to be a wonderful support network to thousands of overs 30s men since we launched in 2013 and have seen many guys open up with their life problems only to be counselled by the lads and never judged.

Life is challenging at the best of times and we like to be able to provide a place where you can have a laugh, forget life's troubles and feel part of a community.

So, now you know a little bit more about us, back to what you can expect from our first ever 30plus on tour retreat...

Instead of focusing on trying to get you to lose the most amount of weight in 5 days (quick fix) we will be educating you with fitness and nutrition talks so that when you return home you will be equipped with the tools for sustainable health and fat loss moving forward.

You will also be introduced to our signature 30plus bodyweight workouts, kettlebell and barbell techniques so that when you return home you have an abundance of new training knowledge to keep you motivated and enjoying your training.

So here's how the 5 day retreat will unfold.....

Day 1

Fly into Lanzarote airport (at your own cost) where you will join the other lads for your transfer to our Luxury Villa in the afternoon. The chance to have a 'welcome workout' around the pool and to get to know the other lads. A cold beer will be waiting for you before dinner cooked by our private chef and an official welcome session.

Day 2

We start with a healthy morning juice before heading off to the local beach for a morning run/warm-up. Breakfast is then served, before we head back to the beach as we get ready for our morning in the sun and sand. An informative session about nutrition before we take part in some training 30+ style. A quick break to get some more liquids on board and perhaps a dip in the sea before doing some SAQ workouts to finish off the morning. Back to the villa to change and get ready for lunch. The afternoon sees us head of to the local gym to go through some signature 30+ workouts before heading back to the villa for some personal time, pre-dinner drinks and a BBQ around the pool.

Day 3

We start with a run to work up an appetite before breakfast is served. The morning gives you the chance to enjoy the pool and take part in some signature 30+ bodyweight workouts as well as some personal time if required. After lunch we head to the beach where we meet with our own personal watersports instructors for an afternoon of kayaking, SUP-boarding and snorkelling. We return to the villa for drinks and dinner.

Day 4

We start the day with a run and some cheeky tabata’s around the pool for those feeling a tad more energetic. A slap-up breakfast after which we head off to pick up our bikes for a cycle along the coast, returning to the Villa for lunch. After re-fuelling we head out on our bikes to Montana Roja which we will climb up and take a walk around the edge of the crater. We return to the villa for a swim before our final dinner of the retreat is served.

Day 5

Up early for a light breakfast before you are transferred back to Lanzarote Airport for your flight home and the chance to reflect on what an awesome week you have had.
